Itinerary details
Explore the Icefjord — a one-of-a-kind Arctic cruise. Ilulissat Glacier (Sermeq Kujalleq) was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004. Every day, millions of tons of ice flow from the glacier through the Ilulissat Icefjord (Kangia) into Disko Bay, eventually forming enormous icebergs that tower above sea level. At the mouth of the Icefjord, these icebergs become trapped, so you can cruise around them and admire their beauty. Icebergs are an impressive sight in any weather. In sunshine, they stand out in sharp contrast; on cloudy days, they take on beautiful blue hues; and in the evening glow, they are painted in unique colors. This spectacle draws visitors back to Ilulissat to experience it all over again. From May 21 to July 24, Ilulissat is enchanted by the midnight sun. A summer evening cruise, spent beneath the golden glow of the midnight sun, is a truly special experience and an absolute must if you visit in summer.
