☆Depart Reykjavík and head for the Golden Circle. 【Snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure at Thingvellir National Park】 (Silfra) The journey begins with an exciting snorkeling adventure in Silfra. We’ll float leisurely in glacial meltwater that has been filtered through lava for about 50 years before reaching the fissure. The crystal-clear water stays at a nearly constant temperature year-round, so you can enjoy this wonderful experience in any season. The low temperature and crystal-clear water provide visibility that is unparalleled anywhere in the world. Our guide will take underwater photos during the trip. The snorkeling tour takes you through Silfra’s four main areas: Silfra Deep Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. The countless shades of blue and green are sure to take your breath away! After snorkeling, continue exploring the Golden Circle area. 【Thingvellir National Park】 The park lies along the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and is also an important witness to Iceland’s history. Icelanders established a parliament here in 930 AD and held meetings here every summer. “Thingvellir” means “parliament plains.” 【Geysir Geothermal Area】(Geysir Geothermal Area) Explore the active Strokkur geyser, which erupts every 4 to 10 minutes. Strokkur is located in the Geysir Geothermal Area, where the Great Geysir is also found. Geysir is located in the Haukadalur Valley, near Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík. The area is a large geothermal field with around 50 geysers. Geysir is particularly prominent, reaching greater heights than any other fountain or geyser in Iceland, and is one of the world’s most famous geysers. The area is also home to Strokkur, about 50 meters (160 feet) to the south. Geysir was the first geyser recorded in history and the first discovered by Europeans. The English word “geyser” comes from its name. Geysir can erupt boiling water up to 70 meters (230 feet) into the air, though eruptions can become infrequent; records show that it has been completely inactive for as long as a year.
