Travel Information
1 Travel preparation:
① Thai Immigration requires visitors entering Thailand to have at least 20,000 baht or 4,000 yuan in cash available for inspection. To deter illegal immigration and illegal labor, Thai Immigration requires every visitor to carry at least 20,000 baht or 4,000 yuan in cash to ensure they have sufficient living expenses during their stay in Thailand. If you are selected for a spot check and do not have the required amount of cash, Immigration has the right to refuse you entry (our travel agency is responsible for reminding and informing you).
② Travel documents: Be sure to bring your passport (and visa), especially for inspections when entering and leaving the country. Keep these documents with you at all times and take good care of them. Before departure, we strongly recommend making a copy of each document and placing them with several passport photos in your carry-on bag. Also note your passport number in case of emergency. If your documents are lost or stolen, immediately notify the travel agency and report it to the police. You can use the spare copies to prove your identity quickly. Ask the police for a written report of the loss, and, if necessary, apply for an exit visa in the country you are visiting and request replacement documents from the Chinese embassy or consulate there.
③ Clothing: Choose clothing according to the seasonal conditions at your destination. Thailand has a tropical monsoon climate with three seasons—hot, rainy, and dry—and an average annual temperature of 24–30°C. Please bring swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and other items so you can enjoy the sea. As Thailand is a tropical country with many mosquitoes and other insects, take particular care to protect yourself from them and bring insect repellent.
④ Items to bring: Pack light and bring only what you need to avoid loss. Please bring your own toothbrush and other toiletries, as well as slippers, because hotels in Southeast Asia do not provide these items, primarily for environmental and personal hygiene reasons. Please also bring everyday items such as an umbrella, sunglasses, and skincare products, as these are more expensive abroad. Be sure to bring essential and commonly used medicines (such as cold medicine, antidiarrheal medicine, motion sickness medicine, and insect repellent) in case you feel unwell.
2. Reminders about tourists’ responsibilities:
① Tour group members must travel on their own ordinary passports. Thailand offers visas on arrival. If passport-related issues affect the itinerary when entering or leaving the country, guests are solely responsible for any resulting losses (including the tour fee) and related liabilities.
② Visitors holding passports issued by countries other than China must arrange their own return visas and all related documents. Guests are responsible if they cannot enter or leave the country due to document or return-visa issues.
③ Group tours are collective activities, with the group departing and returning together. Please be punctual so as not to delay other group members' sightseeing. No one may overstay or fail to return on time.
④ Visitors must not visit or take part in any activities that violate the laws and regulations of our country, public morals, or the relevant laws, customs, or religious prohibitions of the destination.
3. Travel safety precautions:
(1) [Personal Belongings Safety]:
① During your trip abroad, try not to carry large amounts of cash or valuables. You may bring an international credit card and a UnionPay card.
② Do not put cash or valuables in checked baggage. If your baggage is lost, these items are not covered for compensation. Under airline practice, branded or expensive luggage that is damaged or lost is compensated at the rate for standard luggage, with no additional payment based on its value (unless separately insured). Also, do not keep valuables in coat pockets or purses that can be easily punctured. Do not leave cash or valuables in your hotel room or tour vehicle; you may store them at the hotel front desk or in your room safe (keep the receipt and key safe, and remember the safe combination).
③ If you discover that money or belongings have been lost or stolen, such as at the airport or hotel, contact the relevant parties to resolve the matter. You may report it to the police as appropriate, and ask them to issue a detailed loss report.
④ Do not display valuables in public or count cash in front of others while shopping.
⑤ Keep your belongings with you during the trip. Do not leave valuables on the bus. Take care during free time, and preferably leave your identification documents in the hotel safe.
(2) [Sightseeing Safety]:
① When taking photos or videos, check whether there are signs prohibiting photography and do not stop in areas marked with hazard warnings.
② If you wish to take part in adventurous activities, be sure to act within your limits. Anyone with heart disease, lung disease, asthma, or high blood pressure must not take part in water or high-altitude activities. When playing in the sea, do not go beyond the safety boundary. If you are not a confident swimmer, do not enter the water alone.
③ When snorkeling, be sure to wear a life jacket, listen to the staff’s instructions, and practice using the breathing mask on board. Do not enter the water if you are not comfortable doing so.
④ For water activities such as swimming, parasailing, banana boat rides, donut rides, rafting, sea walking, diving, and snorkeling, visitors must consider their own physical condition. These activities are absolutely unsuitable for people with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, pregnant women, people with asthma, young children, older adults, anyone in poor health, or anyone with a known medical condition.
⑤ When traveling by speedboat or long-tail boat, be sure to wear a life jacket, hold on, and remain seated. Do not move around. Passengers under 55 and those who are frail should sit as close to the stern as possible to avoid injury from the boat pitching in rough seas.
(3) [Accommodation Safety]
① If someone delivers something to your room, call the front desk to verify before opening the door.
② Always close and lock your room door when entering or leaving, and keep your room key safe. Familiarize yourself with the hotel's safety routes and evacuation signs, including emergency exits. In case of fire, leave promptly via an emergency exit; do not use the elevator. If going out at night or during free time, inform your tour guide or tour leader and go in groups of three or more. Before leaving, get the hotel's business card from the front desk to avoid getting lost, and take particular care to stay safe.
③ When using the hotel's gym or swimming pool, take care to protect yourself. Check the pool's opening hours; never enter when it is closed, and do not swim alone. Rest for a while after eating before getting into the water to avoid cramps.
④ Before checking out, check all your belongings, paying particular attention to identification, important documents, and valuables in storage, to avoid losing anything in the rush.
(4) [Shopping Safety]:
Shop carefully and watch out for counterfeit or substandard products. Consider your purchases before buying to avoid the hassle of returns. When trying on clothes or shoes, ask a fellow tour group member to accompany you and keep an eye on your belongings. Most countries offer shopping tax refunds. Please ask the store about the specific refund terms, obtain a tax refund cheque, fill it in correctly, and have it stamped by customs.
(5) Personal Safety:
① Keep away from drugs and other prohibited substances. Do not carry any luggage or belongings for others when entering or leaving the country.
② When traveling by car or boat, do not put your head or hands outside the window. Watch for traffic and take care of your personal safety when getting on or off. When traveling by boat, speedboat, or other watercraft, be sure to wear a life jacket. In Thailand, vehicles drive on the left, unlike in China, so watch for traffic when crossing the road.
③ If a traffic accident occurs, do not panic. Take measures to help yourself and others, protect the scene, and promptly report the incident to the tour leader and the police. In the event of an accident, remain calm and immediately notify the relevant parties, including the travel agency, rescue services, and insurance company. Keep all original documents, including traffic or accident reports (issued by the public security traffic authorities), medical certificates and receipts for medical expenses (issued by a hospital or medical institution), and forensic examination reports, for submission to the insurance company when making a claim.
④ Respect the customs and traditions of the country you are visiting, especially those of countries with distinctive religious customs, and avoid disputes caused by inappropriate words or behavior.
⑤ In the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster, political unrest, war, a sudden terrorist incident, or accidental injury, respond calmly and leave the danger area as soon as possible. Promptly report the situation to the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country you are visiting, or contact relevant authorities in China to seek rescue and protection.
⑥ If your personal safety is threatened or you are injured, immediately report the incident to the local police, obtain written proof from them, and ask them to apprehend the offender or provide protection.
⑦ We strongly recommend that every traveler purchase personal travel accident insurance. However, the following are not covered by insurance: war, armed conflict, strikes, pre-existing illnesses, and high-risk activities such as diving, rock climbing, and bungee jumping. Please confirm whether the activities on your itinerary are covered. If you have questions, check with your insurance company or insurance agent.
⑧ Guests traveling with children should keep an eye on them to prevent accidents such as getting lost or injured. Please follow the arrangements made by your tour guide and staff, and do not wander off on your own.
⑨ During transportation, accommodation, dining, sightseeing, and other activities, tourists should pay attention to and follow all warnings, notices, instructions, reminders, and other guidance posted at relevant venues.
(6) Important Information About Your Travel Destination:
① Thai Customs allows each person to bring in only 1 carton of cigarettes (200 cigarettes) and 1 bottle of alcohol (1 liter). Those who exceed these limits will face severe penalties, and the travel agency cannot help resolve the matter. Please take note!
②) The Grand Palace in Thailand has strict dress requirements. Dress appropriately; sleeveless tops, shorts, slippers, and similar clothing are not permitted. Please observe the customs of this Buddhist country (consult your tour guide if needed).
③) Thai custom dictates that you should not touch another person's head. When greeting Thai people, press your palms together instead of shaking hands. Do not point at people or objects with your feet.
④ In Thailand, visitors should not casually criticize or discuss the royal family.
⑤ Gambling is prohibited in Thailand; playing cards or mahjong is not allowed even in hotel rooms.
⑥ Some activities in Thailand are unsuitable for children under 18, such as spa massages and adult shows. Please consult your guide or tour leader at the time.
⑦ Power supply: 220 volts, 50 Hz; two-pin round and three-pin flat sockets.
⑧ Tipping is customary in Thailand; please respect this international custom.
⑨ Thailand is 1 hour behind Beijing time.
