Step aboard our fast, modern catamarans, MS Rygerdronningen or MS Rygertroll, for an exciting journey into the whales’ winter wonderland. We’ll travel through the Arctic fjords of Northern Norway to show you the Arctic’s treasures: humpback whales, fin whales, orcas, harbour porpoises, seabirds, and other Arctic wildlife. Thanks to our vessels’ speed, we’re among the first to reach the whale-watching grounds on each trip, helping you make the most of your time observing these magnificent creatures. Every winter, from mid-October to the end of January, humpback whales and orcas (killer whales) migrate to the waters near Tromsø to feast on Atlantic herring. As we head to the whales’ feeding grounds, enjoy a scenic voyage with spectacular views of the Lyngen Alps. Our knowledgeable guides will share fascinating insights into whales and local history, making your whale-watching trip both enjoyable and educational. Our vessels: ①MS Rygerdronningen Standard meeting time: 08:10 / Departure time: 8:30 a.m. MS Rygerdronningen is a spacious, luxurious and eco-friendly catamaran. It remains stable even in rough seas and is very fast. With a top speed of nearly 20 knots, it allows us to reach the whales quickly. ②MS Rygertroll Additional meeting time: 08:40 / Departure time: 9:00 a.m. During peak season and on days with high demand, we arrange additional departures on MS Rygertroll, a slightly smaller catamaran that is faster than MS Rygerdronningen. 【Both boats have the same onboard facilities: several outdoor viewing decks, a spacious indoor lounge with panoramic windows, a kiosk serving hot soup, snacks and drinks, free Wi-Fi, charging points and restrooms.】 【Both boats are conditionally wheelchair accessible. Due to frequent tidal changes in Tromsø, boarding and disembarking are more difficult for wheelchair users. Wheelchair users must be able to walk independently and manage boarding, disembarking and stairs. Our staff will assist passengers and their wheelchairs to board safely. The same applies to strollers. Please inform our customer service team in advance if this applies to you.】 **Haven’t seen any whales?** If you don’t see any whales during your tour, we can offer you a free booking for a second tour. This offer is subject to availability and allows you to join a second whale-watching tour in the same season. **Sustainable Whale Watching** We are committed to providing environmentally conscious experiences, and our tours are designed to respect marine life. We follow Visit Tromsø’s whale-watching guidelines and comply with AECO’s whale-watching guidelines. We are also proud to be certified as environmentally friendly tourism under the strict standards set by the Eco-Lighthouse Foundation. **Tour Duration** 08:30 – 16:30 (8 hours) The exact duration depends on the whales’ location. The journey to the whale area takes approximately 2 hours.
