Itinerary details
Join our Eagle’s Nest day trip for an unforgettable experience. Explore the stunning natural scenery of the Berchtesgaden region while immersing yourself in its history. Our expert guide will accompany you throughout the tour, bringing the history of Germany’s Nazi era to life and showing you the region’s most beautiful sights. Our Eagle’s Nest tour stops Berchtesgaden town In the old town, picturesque lanes, traditional half-timbered houses, and charming squares invite you to wander and linger. Particularly impressive is the magnificent Residenz, a 16th-century architectural gem that once served as the summer residence of the prince-bishops and now houses a museum showcasing the region’s royal history. Strolling through the old town and visiting the Residenz are must-dos on a trip to Berchtesgaden. Eagle's Nest Kehlsteinhaus, also known as the “Eagle’s Nest,” is a fascinating historic building on Mount Kehlstein in the Berchtesgaden region. Originally built as a gift for Hitler, it now offers visitors spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. From its stunning panoramic terrace, you can admire the grandeur of the Alps. The Eagle’s Nest also stands as a symbol of overcoming a dark past and a reminder not to forget history. A visit is not only a journey into the past, but also an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature and reflect on the importance of peace. Obersalzberg Documentation Center The Obersalzberg Documentation Center offers a compelling contemporary account of Obersalzberg, once a “power base” that played a central role during the Nazi era. Exploring historical artifacts, photographs, and documents gives you an in-depth look at one of the darkest periods in German history. The exhibition takes visitors through the former Führer’s guesthouse and explores Hitler’s life and the structures of his rule, while also showing the destruction of the site during Allied bombing and the postwar period.
