Itinerary details
Relax aboard our modern, comfortable coach and enjoy an unforgettable trip to Salzburg. Along the way, take in the Salzkammergut’s picturesque scenery, with sparkling lakes and majestic mountains providing the perfect backdrop for your journey. Lush green hills, shimmering waters and towering peaks will captivate nature lovers and fans of The Sound of Music, who are sure to recognize the filming locations. The opening scenes, which showcase the beauty of this region, will stay with you throughout the journey. Upon arrival in Salzburg, we’ll take you on a walk through the historic Old Town to see the city’s most famous landmarks. Mirabell Gardens, a well-known filming location for The Sound of Music, is just one of the many sights you’ll discover along the way. Maria and the children filmed the iconic “Do-Re-Mi” scene here, singing and dancing by the fountains and on the steps. You’ll also visit the Horse Pond and the Rock Riding School, where Baron von Trapp sang “Edelweiss” as a farewell. These locations and the stories behind them will take you back to the making of the film and bring its magic vividly to life. Another highlight of this trip is a visit to Mozart’s birthplace on the historic Getreidegasse. This winding, narrow street still retains the charm of the 18th century and leads you to the birthplace of this famous composer. As you stroll through this historic neighborhood, you’ll gain a unique insight into the life of this musical genius. In the Old Town, you can also explore other landmarks, such as the impressive Collegiate Church, St. Peter’s Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, and the world-famous Festival Hall. After the guided tour, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace. Stroll through the charming streets, enjoy a delicious lunch, or browse the many shops. Salzburg perfectly combines history, culture, and modern amenities, offering something for everyone. Before returning to Vienna, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore Salzburg.
