Day 2
Cairo - Alexandria - Cairo
Itinerary details
Morning: After breakfast, drive to Alexandria (approximately 3 hours). Visit the [Pompey's Pillar] (approximately 30 minutes). The pillar is named after the Roman general Pompey (106–48 BC), who fled to Egypt after being defeated by Julius Caesar and was killed by the Egyptians. His ashes were placed in an urn atop the pillar. The pillar consists of a base, shaft, and capital, stands approximately 26 meters tall, weighs about 500 tons, and has a cylindrical shaft. [Bibliotheca Alexandrina] (approximately 45 minutes), also known as the Ancient Library of Alexandria, was once the largest library in the world. It was built in the 3rd century BC by Ptolemy I, king of Egypt's Ptolemaic dynasty, and was later destroyed by fire. The new Bibliotheca Alexandrina, built near the original site in 2002, is one of the major libraries and cultural centers along the Mediterranean. It both commemorates the ancient library and represents an effort to revive scholarship and culture. (Note: If the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is closed on Friday or another public holiday, the visit will be changed to the Alexandria National Museum.) Afternoon: Visit the [site of the Lighthouse of Alexandria] (approximately 30 minutes). The lighthouse stood over 100 meters tall and used a light to guide sailors. It influenced the design of minarets in the later Arab world and inspired many imitations at ports around the Mediterranean. It was the world's tallest man-made structure after the Pyramids of Giza and was listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. [Qaitbay Citadel] (approximately 30 minutes), built on the site of the original Lighthouse of Alexandria, is a rectangular Arab-style fortress and one of Alexandria's landmarks. A statue of a sea god stands at its top. The citadel's buildings now house a mosque and a museum, and offer magnificent views of the city and the Mediterranean. After the tour, transfer to your hotel in Cairo (approximately 3 hours).

Day 3
Cairo - Giza Pyramids - Grand Egyptian Museum - Khan el-Khalili Bazaar - Cairo
Itinerary details
Morning: Visit the 【Giza Pyramid Complex】, hailed as the tallest ancient structures still standing and the foremost of the Seven Wonders of the World (visit approximately 90 minutes). The 【Great Pyramid of Khufu】 is the oldest and only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, along with the 【Pyramid of Khafre】 and the 【Pyramid of Menkaure】. (Please note: If you wish to enter the Great Pyramid of Khufu to see the sarcophagus, you must purchase a ticket for the Great Pyramid or a smaller pyramid yourself. Daily admission is limited.) Then head to the famous 【Great Sphinx】 beside the pyramids (visit approximately 30 minutes). This celebrated Egyptian landmark, like the pyramids, is one of the most iconic remains of ancient Egyptian civilization. Ancient Egyptians often used lions to represent pharaohs, symbolizing their boundless authority and immense power. The idea that a pharaoh was both god and human led to the creation of the sphinx, a hybrid figure. Afternoon: Visit the world-renowned 【Grand Egyptian Museum】 (approximately 180 minutes inside). Facing the pyramids, this modern architectural marvel engages in a dialogue across time with the ancient pyramids when viewed from the Giza Plateau, earning it the title “the Fourth Pyramid.” The Grand Egyptian Museum is the world’s largest archaeological museum, with a collection of more than 100,000 artifacts and nearly 500,000 square meters of exhibition space. It showcases precious artifacts from Egypt’s prehistoric era through the Greco-Roman period, including, for the first time, the complete collection of more than 5,000 grave goods belonging to the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, as well as the solar boat buried with Pharaoh Khufu, the colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramesses II, and many other artifacts. Then visit the celebrated 【Khan el-Khalili Bazaar】, one of Egypt’s most famous markets for Arab goods. A bustling destination with an 800-year history, it is a renowned trading center in the Arab world. If you get tired of browsing, stop for a drink at 【El Fishawy Café】, Nobel Prize laureate Naguib Mahfouz’s favorite café. This coffeehouse has a history of more than 200 years.

Day 4
Cairo - Aswan (domestic flight)
Itinerary details
Morning: Our driver will take you to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan, where an Aswan assistant/Chinese-speaking guide will meet you. Board the cruise ship and check in, then relax on board. Later, visit the [Aswan High Dam] (approximately 30 minutes). It is 111 meters high, 3,830 meters long, and 40 meters wide. By spanning the Nile, it holds back the river and causes its waters to flow upstream for 500 kilometers, creating Lake Nasser, an artificial reservoir with a capacity of 164 billion cubic meters. The dam is Aswan’s most famous landmark. Built by the Egyptians, it brought an end to the Nile’s annual floods and enabled the river that has sustained Egypt for thousands of years to truly benefit its people. Afternoon: Optional activity recommended: a [Nile sightseeing boat] ride, followed by a visit to a [Nubian Village]. Aswan, in the upper reaches of the Nile, is the cleanest city along the river. Its banks are lined with hotels, lush date palm groves, and luxury sightseeing cruise ships. Drifting down the most beautiful stretch of the Nile by boat, accompanied by a gentle breeze, is one of the most relaxing and romantic experiences of a trip to Egypt. [Nubian Village] The Nubians have lived in the desert for thousands of years and were once an ancient people with a highly developed civilization. Take a small ferry across the Nile to the Nubian Village, a sea of color where the exterior walls of every house are painted in an array of colors. Together with the green farmland and swaying date palms in the distance, they create a vivid and harmonious scene.
Important notes
Note: If no suitable domestic flight is available for the scheduled day, the flight to Aswan will be moved to the previous evening, and accommodation that night will likewise be changed to a local five-star hotel in Aswan. Thank you for your understanding.

Aswan - Kom Ombo
Itinerary details
Optional excursion: Get up early to visit the [Temple of Abu Simbel] and the neighboring [Temple of Nefertari]. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Great and Small Temples of Abu Simbel are important memorial monuments built by Ramses II in 1275 BC. The temple is 31 meters high, 38 meters wide, and 65 meters long, carved out of an entire mountainside. The façade of the Great Temple features four colossal statues of Ramses II, each 20 meters high. The temple is hollowed out within, with eight standing statues depicting him in divine form. The statues are remarkably well preserved, and the surrounding walls feature vivid painted murals. The temples of Abu Simbel stand at Egypt's southernmost point, proclaiming the power and majesty of Egypt. Afternoon: Visit the [Temple of Kom Ombo] (approximately 60 minutes), known for its twin entrances, halls, and sanctuaries. The door on the right leads to the section dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god; the door on the left leads to the section dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. This pattern of worship is repeated from the entrance to the sanctuary.

Edfu - Esna Lock - Luxor
Itinerary details
Morning: Take a horse-drawn carriage to visit the Temple of Edfu (about 90 minutes). The Temple of Edfu was first built in 237 BC, during the reign of Ptolemy III. The Greeks once called it the Temple of Apollo. In fact, it was dedicated to the god Horus. Murals on the temple’s outer walls depict grand celebrations held by the ancient Egyptians, as well as the story of Horus avenging his father by killing his uncle, Seth. In front of the temple’s towers stands a stone statue of a falcon, taller than a person and an incarnation of Horus. It has kept watch here for more than 2,000 years. We’ve specially arranged for you to travel by horse-drawn carriage to this magnificent temple. The tall, handsome black horses and the richly decorated carriage alone are sure to get you excited! Afternoon: Pass through the Esna Lock. The Esna Lock is a very distinctive local attraction on the Nile. While cruise ships wait to pass through, small boats approach and their occupants call out persistently to sell souvenirs to passengers. They can throw their goods with remarkable accuracy onto cruise ships as high as four or five stories. The scene is lively, with calls from vendors, bargaining, and laughter from passengers rising in turn. This unique way of selling goods can probably only be seen on the Nile.

Luxor - Karnak Temple - Hurghada (Red Sea)
Itinerary details
Morning: Visit the world’s largest temple complex, [Karnak Temple] (approximately 60 minutes inside). Dedicated to the burial temples of generations of pharaohs, the complex has a carefully planned layout that is truly breathtaking. The temple rose to fame as a filming location for the classic movie Death on the Nile. Here you can see the statue of Ramesses II in the famous Great Hypostyle Hall, as well as the small temple of the queen. [Luxor Temple] (view from outside). Located in the city center, Luxor Temple was once a small shrine used only for New Year celebrations. It was later expanded and renovated in succession by Amenhotep III, Thutmose III, and Ramesses II, who made it a place for honoring Amun-Ra, the goddess Mut, and the god Khonsu. It is therefore also known as the “Southern Sanctuary of Amun.” Afternoon: Our driver/English-speaking assistant will take you to [Hurghada on the Red Sea], an ideal holiday destination (approximately 4 hours by car). City introduction: [Red Sea] The Red Sea’s beaches are a beautiful gift of nature. Beneath the clear, blue waters grow colorful corals and rare marine life. In the distance, forested slopes and continuous mountain ranges frame the coast, with broad plains ideal for camping in between. These magnificent natural landscapes, together with a climate that is pleasant in both winter and summer, create a stunning scene that immerses visitors in a heavenly paradise. Walk along the Red Sea seabed, surrounded by colorful corals, shimmering schools of fish, and mysterious shipwrecks… The Red Sea region has an exceptional natural environment and marine resources, making it one of the world’s best-known diving paradises.

2. Customs regulations:
(1) Currency: China Customs limits the amount of currency that may be taken out of China to RMB 20,000 and foreign currency equivalent to USD 5,000;
(2) Electrical appliances: Large appliances must be declared in advance when taken out of the country, such as video cameras, professional cameras with zoom lenses, and computers;
3. Entry into Egypt:
(1) Bringing drones into the country is prohibited!
(2) The airport pickup assistant at Cairo Airport will help you clear customs. Assistants generally do not speak Chinese and speak only English;
(3) Entry procedures for Egypt are simple: passport (valid for more than 6 months) + entry card (provided on the plane) + visa slip (purchased after arrival);
Weather and Clothing
1. Daytime temperatures in Egypt are high and UV rays are strong. Please bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a sun umbrella, sun-protective clothing, etc.;
2. There is a large temperature difference between day and night, and evenings can be relatively cool. Be sure to bring a warm jacket or sweater.
3. In summer, wear loose-fitting, breathable, light-colored clothing as much as possible. In winter, bring a thick coat to keep warm;
4. Weather website: http://www.worldweather.cn/tu/tuindex.htm
Communications
1. To call China from Egypt, dial 0086 + the three-digit area code + the phone number. For example, to call Shenzhen: 0086 + 755 + 12345678. To call a local number in Egypt, dial 0020 + the city area code + the phone number.
2. To make calls outside the hotel from your room, contact the front desk to activate the service. Hotel calls are relatively expensive.
3. Mobile phones with China Mobile international long-distance and roaming services enabled can be used directly.
To call a mobile phone, dial 0086 + recipient's mobile number (e.g., 00861390…….)
To call a landline, dial 0086 + area code + recipient's number (e.g., 0086+75525851744)
Power outlets
Egypt uses European-style two-round-pin power outlets. We recommend purchasing a universal travel adapter.
Dining
1. We recommend bringing some spicy condiments, such as chili sauce or pickled mustard stems. Tea is not provided with local meals.
2. Most restaurants do not allow guests to bring their own alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic drinks and other beverages are not included in meal prices; if you would like any, please pay for them separately on site.
3. When dining at a buffet, please take food courteously and do not waste it;
4. To avoid discomfort from unfamiliar food or stomach problems, please drink bottled water and avoid eating food sold by street vendors.
Accommodation
1. Hotels are generally locally rated five-star. As Egypt’s level of economic development is far below China’s, their standards are broadly equivalent to four-star hotels in China.
2. Hotels do not provide disposable items such as slippers, toothbrushes, or toothpaste;
3. Mains electricity in major cities is 220 volts, and outlets use European round-pin plugs;
4. Tap water is not safe to drink. Hotels generally do not provide electric kettles. If you need hot water, you may bring your own kettle or ask staff to bring you hot water (a tip of around USD 1 per pot is required).
During the trip
Important notes
1. Travel by road: Journeys between major cities are long. We recommend bringing some snacks. Travelers prone to motion sickness should bring motion sickness medication.
2. Safety: Take good care of your valuables and documents, and keep valuables with you at all times;
3. Transportation: Cairo traffic is very congested, and traffic jams are common. Traffic conditions in other cities are generally good. Travel from Aswan to Luxor and the Red Sea must be reported to the local transport bureau in advance, and departures must be at the designated time. Please gather promptly.
Sightseeing
1. Egypt is a country with a long history. The main reason to visit Egypt is to experience its history and culture. Learning about the country’s history and culture before departure will make your trip even more rewarding.
2. Attractions such as the pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, and the Red Sea are sandy. For ease of walking, we recommend not wearing high heels;
3. At the Pyramids, many locals may offer camel rides, take your photo, or ask to take a photo with you, claiming that it is free. Do not believe them; afterward, they will ask tourists for a large tip;
4. The guide may adjust the itinerary as needed, provided no attractions are omitted. If weather, traffic jams, strikes or other force majeure events prevent visits to attractions on the itinerary, the travel agency reserves the right to change the attractions or refund the loss after your return, based on the ticket price.
Expenses
1. Specialty products: papyrus paintings, perfume oils, spices, glassware, copperware, crystal, cotton goods, carpets, dates, etc.
2. Reference exchange rates: US$1 = EGP 49; RMB 1 = EGP 7
3. Currencies in circulation: US dollars and Egyptian pounds. Some tourist shops accept international credit cards; RMB is not accepted;
4. Public restrooms in Egypt charge a fee of EGP 10–20. Please bring small change.
Tipping
1. Tipping is customary abroad, and giving a tip is also a courtesy.
2. If you request extra service from staff at a hotel, restaurant, or other venue, it is best to leave a tip, generally about US$1;
3. We recommend bringing small items such as cooling balm and pens, as locals often ask Chinese visitors for these items.
