Day 2
Cairo
Itinerary details
Morning: Visit the Giza Pyramid Complex (approximately 90 minutes). Hailed as the tallest ancient structures in existence and the foremost of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid of Khufu is the oldest and only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Also visit the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure. (Please note: If you wish to enter the largest pyramid, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, to see the sarcophagus, you must purchase a ticket yourself. Daily tickets are limited.) Then visit the famous Great Sphinx beside the pyramids (approximately 30 minutes). This renowned Egyptian monument, like the pyramids, is one of the most iconic relics of ancient Egyptian civilization. The ancient Egyptians often used lions to represent pharaohs, symbolizing their boundless authority and strength. The belief that pharaohs were both gods and humans gave rise to the sphinx, a mythical creature combining human and lion features. Afternoon: Visit the world-renowned Grand Egyptian Museum (approximately 180 minutes inside). Facing the pyramids from across the plateau, this modern architectural marvel and the ancient pyramids engage in a dialogue across time. The museum has been hailed as the “Fourth Pyramid.” It is the world’s largest archaeological museum, housing over 100,000 artifacts across nearly 500,000 square meters of exhibition space. Its collection includes many precious objects from Egypt’s prehistoric era through the Greco-Roman period. For the first time, more than 5,000 burial artifacts belonging to the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun are displayed together in their entirety, alongside many other artifacts, including the solar barque buried with Pharaoh Khufu and a colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramesses II. Next, visit the celebrated Khan el-Khalili Bazaar (approximately 90 minutes), one of Egypt’s most famous markets for Arab goods. Bustling with visitors, it has an 800-year history and is a renowned Arab trading center. If you get tired of browsing, take a break and enjoy a drink at your own expense at Café Fishawi, Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz’s favorite café. This coffeehouse has a history of more than 200 years. Evening: After dinner, transfer back to your hotel to rest.

Itinerary details
Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Hurghada on the Red Sea, an ideal holiday destination (approximately 6 hours by road; no guide on board). City introduction: The beaches of the Red Sea are a magnificent gift of nature. Beneath its clear, blue waters flourish colorful coral and rare marine life. In the distance, layered forests and rolling mountains frame the coast, with broad plains between them that are ideal for camping. These extraordinary natural landscapes, together with a climate that is pleasant in both summer and winter, create a breathtaking scene that makes visitors feel they are in paradise. Walk along the Red Sea seabed, surrounded by dazzling coral and schools of shimmering fish, with mysterious shipwrecks nearby. The Red Sea region is blessed with a unique ecological environment and abundant marine resources, making it one of the world’s most famous diving paradises.
Important notes

Day 5
Hurghada (Red Sea) - Luxor
Itinerary details
Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Luxor (approximately 4 hours; no guide on board). Noon: Arrive in Luxor, where your local guide will meet you. Visit the world’s largest temple complex, Karnak Temple (approximately 90 minutes inside). Dedicated to the tombs of successive pharaohs, the temple complex is laid out with impressive precision. It gained fame as a filming location for the classic movie Death on the Nile. Here, you can see the statue of Ramesses II in the renowned Hypostyle Hall, as well as the small temple of the queen. A horse-drawn carriage ride is a must-try in Luxor! We’ve arranged a carriage ride to visit the magnificent Luxor Temple. The handsome black horses and elaborately decorated carriage alone are sure to get you excited (a US$1 tip for the driver is required)! Luxor Temple (approximately 60 minutes inside) is located in the city center. It was once a small shrine used only for New Year celebrations. Amenhotep III, Thutmose III, and Ramesses II later expanded and renovated it, making it a site for welcoming Amun-Ra, the goddess Mut, and the god Khonsu. It is therefore also known as the “Southern Sanctuary of Amun.” Luxor Market (approximately 30 minutes) is more than a snapshot of the city—it is full of everyday life. Exploring a market is a great way to quickly get to know a city. We’ll take you to see an Egyptian market and experience the distinctive culture of the Arab world. Take a little time out to sit, enjoy a coffee and a sweet treat, and savor a peaceful moment.

(2) Do not put cash, cameras, laptops, or other valuables in checked baggage. Keep your baggage claim tag safe;

(1) Currency: China Customs limits the amount of currency that may be taken out of China to RMB 20,000 and foreign currency equivalent to USD 5,000;
(2) Electrical appliances: Large appliances must be declared in advance when taken out of the country, such as camcorders, professional cameras with zoom lenses, computers, etc.;
3. Entry into Egypt:
(1) Bringing drones into the country is prohibited!
(2) An airport meet-and-greet assistant at Cairo Airport will help you clear customs. Assistants generally do not speak Chinese and speak only English;
(3) Entry procedures for Egypt are simple: passport (valid for more than 6 months) + entry card (distributed on the plane) + visa slip (purchased after arrival);
Weather and Clothing
1. Daytime temperatures in Egypt are high and UV rays are strong. Please bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a parasol, sun-protective clothing, and similar items;
2. There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening, and evenings are relatively cool. You must bring a warm coat or sweater;
3. In summer, wear loose-fitting, breathable, light-colored clothing as much as possible. In winter, bring a thicker, warm coat.
4. Weather website: http://www.worldweather.cn/tu/tuindex.htm
Communication
1. To call China from Egypt, dial 0086 + the three-digit area code + the phone number. For example, to call Shenzhen: 0086 + 755 + 12345678. To call a local number in Egypt, dial 0020 + the city area code + the phone number.
2. To make an outgoing call from your hotel room, you must ask the front desk to activate the service. Hotel calls are relatively expensive;
3. Mobile phones with China Mobile international long-distance calling and roaming enabled can be used directly.
To call a mobile phone, dial 0086 + mobile number (e.g., 00861390……).
To call a landline, dial 0086 + area code + phone number (e.g., 0086+75525851744).
Power outlets
Egyptian power outlets have two round European-style holes. We recommend purchasing a universal travel adapter.
Dining
1. We recommend bringing some spicy condiments, such as chili sauce or pickled mustard greens, to stimulate your appetite. Tea is not provided with local meals;
2. Most restaurants do not allow guests to bring their own alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic and other beverages are not included in meal costs; if you would like any, please pay for them separately at the venue.
3. When dining at a buffet, please take food courteously and do not waste it.
4. To avoid discomfort from unfamiliar food or stomach problems, please drink bottled water and avoid food sold by street vendors.
Accommodation
1. Hotels are generally locally rated five-star. As Egypt's level of economic development is far below China's, their standards are roughly equivalent to four-star hotels in China;
2. Hotels do not provide disposable items such as slippers, toothbrushes, or toothpaste.
3. The AC voltage in major cities is 220 volts, and outlets use European-style round plugs;
4. Tap water is not safe to drink. Hotels generally do not provide electric kettles. If you need hot water, you can bring your own kettle or ask the attendant to bring hot water (a tip of about US$1 per pot is required).
During the trip
Important notes
1. Travel by road: Journeys between major cities are long. We recommend bringing some snacks. Passengers prone to motion sickness should bring motion sickness medication;
2. Safety: Take good care of your valuables and documents, and keep valuables with you at all times.
3. Transportation: Cairo traffic is quite congested, and traffic jams are commonplace. Traffic conditions in other cities are generally good. Transportation authorities in Aswan, Luxor, and the Red Sea region must be notified in advance, and departures must be at a coordinated time. Please gather punctually.
Sightseeing
1. Egypt is a country with a long history. The main reason to visit is to experience its history and culture. Learning about the local history and culture before departure will make your trip to Egypt even more rewarding;
2. Attractions such as the Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, and the Red Sea are sandy. For ease of walking, we recommend not wearing high heels.
3. At the Pyramids, many locals may offer camel rides, take photos of you, or ask to take photos with you, claiming these services are free. Please do not believe them; afterward, they will demand hefty tips from tourists;
4. The guide may adjust the itinerary as necessary, provided no attractions are omitted. If weather, traffic jams, strikes, or other force majeure events prevent you from visiting attractions as planned, the travel agency may substitute attractions or, after your return, refund the loss based on the ticket price.
Shopping and expenses
1. Local specialties: papyrus paintings, perfume oils, spices, glassware, copperware, crystals, cotton textiles, carpets, dates, and more;
2. Reference exchange rates: USD 1 = EGP 49; CNY 1 = EGP 7.
3. Currency in circulation: US dollars and Egyptian pounds. Some tourist shops accept international credit cards; Chinese yuan is not accepted;
4. Public restrooms in Egypt charge 10–20 Egyptian pounds; please bring small change.
Tipping
1. Tipping is customary abroad, and giving a tip is also a gesture of courtesy,
2. If you request extra service from staff at a hotel, restaurant, or other venue, it is best to give them a small tip, generally around USD 1.
3. We recommend bringing small items such as medicated balm and pens, as locals often ask Chinese visitors for these items.
