Day 2
Cairo - Aswan (flight time approximately 1.5 hours)
Itinerary details
Morning: After breakfast, set out for today’s exciting itinerary (please pack your bags and check out in advance). Morning: Visit the [Giza Pyramid Complex], hailed as the tallest ancient structures still standing and the foremost of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (approximately 90 minutes). The [Great Pyramid of Khufu] is the oldest and only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, along with the [Pyramid of Khafre] and the [Pyramid of Menkaure]. (Please note: To enter the Great Pyramid of Khufu and see the sarcophagus, you must purchase a separate ticket for the Great or smaller pyramid; daily visitor numbers are limited.) Then head to the famous 【Great Sphinx】 beside the pyramids (visit approximately 30 minutes). This celebrated Egyptian landmark, like the pyramids, is one of the most iconic remains of ancient Egyptian civilization. Ancient Egyptians often used lions to represent pharaohs, symbolizing their boundless authority and immense power. The idea that a pharaoh was both god and human led to the creation of the sphinx, a hybrid figure. Afternoon: Visit the world-renowned 【Grand Egyptian Museum】 (approximately 180 minutes inside). Facing the pyramids, this modern architectural marvel engages in a dialogue across time with the ancient pyramids when viewed from the Giza Plateau, earning it the title “the Fourth Pyramid.” The Grand Egyptian Museum is the world’s largest archaeological museum, with a collection of more than 100,000 artifacts and nearly 500,000 square meters of exhibition space. It showcases precious artifacts from Egypt’s prehistoric era through the Greco-Roman period, including, for the first time, the complete collection of more than 5,000 grave goods belonging to the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, as well as the solar boat buried with Pharaoh Khufu, the colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramesses II, and many other artifacts. According to your flight schedule, transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, meet your driver and check in at your Aswan hotel. Note: If no suitable flight is available tonight, you may take an early-morning flight to Aswan the following day. In that case, you will stay in Cairo tonight. Actual arrangements depend on flight availability.

Day 3
Aswan - Abu Simbel - Aswan (about 7 hours round-trip by car)
Itinerary details
Morning: Depart to visit the Temple of Abu Simbel (3 hours each way by car; approximately 2 hours for the visit). Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Great and Small Temples of Abu Simbel are important monuments built by Ramesses II in 1275 BC. The temple is 31 meters high, 38 meters wide, and 65 meters long, and was carved into an entire mountainside. The façade of the Great Temple features four colossal statues of Ramesses II, each 20 meters tall. The temple is carved into the rock behind them, with eight standing statues depicting him in divine form inside. The statues are remarkably well preserved, and the surrounding walls feature magnificent painted murals. Standing at the southernmost point of Egyptian territory, the temples of Abu Simbel proclaim Egypt’s power and majesty. Next, visit the Temple of Nefertari beside the Temple of Abu Simbel. Ramesses II built it for his queen Nefertari, and it is the only temple in Egypt built for a queen. At the entrance, the statues of the queen and pharaoh stand at the same height—an unprecedented distinction in ancient Egypt. This pharaoh, who had more than 200 consorts and fathered 156 children, made an exception for Nefertari alone. Afternoon: Take a traditional felucca sailing boat (approximately 30 minutes). The Nile’s clear waters ripple with green reflections, and you can admire the beautiful scenery along the river. Temples appear and disappear in the distance as the boatman hums an ancient song. With no motor noise, only the whisper of wind and water, you’ll feel transported to the age of the pharaohs—the atmosphere is unforgettable! (Note: If the wind is too weak for sailing that day, the felucca will be replaced by a motorboat.) Recommended optional activities: Ferry to a Nubian village: The Nubians have lived in the desert for thousands of years and were once an ancient people who built a highly developed civilization. Take a small ferry across the Nile to a Nubian village, a sea of color where the exterior walls of every house are painted in a variety of hues. Together with the lush green fields and swaying date palms in the distance, they create a vivid and harmonious scene.

Day 4
Aswan - Luxor (about 4 hours by car)
Itinerary details
Morning: After breakfast, set out for today’s exciting itinerary (please pack your bags and check out in advance). Morning: Visit the Temple of Philae (about 60 minutes). Take a traditional local boat to the Temple of Philae. The Temple of Isis was built on the ruins of an ancient pharaonic temple by Ptolemy II Philadelphus (reigned 274–264 BC) to honor Isis, goddess of life. Visit the Aswan High Dam (about 30 minutes). The dam is 111 meters high, 3,830 meters long, and 40 meters wide. It spans the Nile, causing the river to back up for 500 kilometers and creating Lake Nasser, an artificial reservoir with a capacity of 164 billion cubic meters. The dam is Aswan’s most famous landmark. Built by the Egyptians, it ended the Nile’s annual flooding and made the river that had sustained Egypt for thousands of years truly benefit its people. Afterward, drive to Luxor. Evening: Take a night tour of Luxor Temple (about 60 minutes). Located in the city center, Luxor Temple was once a small shrine used only for New Year celebrations. Amenhotep III, Thutmose III, and Ramesses II later expanded and renovated it, making it a place to welcome the gods Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu. It is therefore also known as the “Southern Harem of Amun.”

Day 5
Luxor - Red Sea (approx. 4-hour drive)
Itinerary details
Morning: Visit the Valley of the Kings (about 60 minutes). The Valley of the Kings in Egypt was the principal burial ground for pharaohs and nobles during the New Kingdom period of ancient Egypt (approximately the 16th to 11th centuries BC), located on the west bank of the Nile. A world-famous archaeological site, it is renowned for its magnificent tombs, exquisite wall paintings, and precious historical artifacts. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. (Note: The Valley of the Kings admission ticket allows entry to three tombs; tombs requiring an additional fee are not included.) Visit the Colossi of Memnon (about 10 minutes). They stand alone, their enormous forms bearing the marks of time. The “weeping” sounds heard in the past may have mourned vanished glory or told of the joys and sorrows of an ancient dynasty. Though silent today, they continue to attract countless visitors with their majesty and mystery, and remain an enduring symbol of Luxor. Continue to the world’s largest temple complex, Karnak Temple (about 60 minutes inside). Dedicated to the pharaohs of successive dynasties, the temple complex is laid out with astonishing precision. It gained fame as a filming location for the classic movie Death on the Nile. Here, you can see the statue of Ramesses II in the world-famous Hypostyle Hall, as well as the small temple of the queen. After lunch, travel to the ideal holiday destination of the Red Sea (about 4 hours by car). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and enjoy free time. Optional activity: Luxor hot-air balloon ride. Depart at around 4:30 a.m. (once booked, the fee is nonrefundable except in cases of weather-related cancellation). Travel by vehicle to the launch site and transfer to a hot-air balloon for a bird’s-eye view of Luxor, the world’s largest open-air museum. If you are lucky, you may see the Queen’s Temple and the Valley of the Kings, along with beautiful desert oasis fields where yellow and green meet, and the magnificent scenery at dawn.
