Itinerary details
Begin today's beautiful journey 【09:30】Nara ▼Nara Park (approx. 90 minutes) Nara Park, where you can see both deer and autumn leaves The park's red leaves look even more vivid against the bright green of the evergreen trees. Nara Park is an urban park at the foot of Mount Wakakusa in Nara City. Famous sites such as Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine are located here, making it a must-visit destination in Nara. Nearby Mount Wakakusa is a wonderful place to take in views of Nara, and traditional events such as the Wakakusa Yamayaki are held there every January. The best way to explore the park is to take a leisurely stroll. The park is also home to the largest concentration of deer, and feeding the adorable fawns is a highlight for visitors. The deer are very clever and will come over when they see deer crackers in your hand, so watch out for groups of little deer that might knock you over! Recommended itinerary Attraction information 【Todai-ji Temple】 (Admission fee not included) Also known as Daikegon-ji, it was built in 752 by Emperor Shomu to enshrine the Great Buddha and serve as the head temple of Japanese Buddhism. It is the head temple of the Kegon school. The buildings were destroyed by fire twice, and the current structure was rebuilt in 1692 at two-thirds the size of the original. The main hall of Todai-ji is 57 meters wide at the front and 50 meters deep, making it the world's largest wooden building. Inside the Great Buddha Hall is a statue of Rushana Buddha over 15 meters tall. The temple grounds also include the Nandaimon Gate, Nigatsu-do Hall, and Sangatsu-do Hall. (Admission: Todai-ji Great Buddha Hall: adults 600 yen, children 300 yen; Great Buddha Hall + museum: adults 1,000 yen, children 400 yen) 【11:00】Kyoto ▼Fushimi Inari Taisha (approx. 80 minutes, free time) Fushimi Inari Taisha is famous for its "Thousand Torii Gates" and attracts countless visitors from Japan and around the world every year. For three consecutive years, it also ranked first as the "Most Popular Japanese Attraction Among Foreign Visitors" in a survey by the world's largest travel website. Pray here for yourself and your loved ones. The ema votive plaques at Fushimi Inari Taisha are also distinctive: shaped like white foxes, they invite you to get creative and draw all kinds of expressive faces. 【11:30】Kyoto ▼Kiyomizu-dera area (approx. 3 hours) In autumn, Kiyomizu-dera is surrounded by spectacular red leaves covering the hillsides. The foliage in front of the grand stage of the main hall is especially beautiful. Recommended: Kiyomizu-dera (admission fee not included) - Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka - Ishibei-koji Lane - Gion and Hanamikoji Street - Yasaka Shrine Guests may choose which attractions to visit based on their preferences and fitness levels~ Attraction introductions: 【Kiyomizu-dera Temple】A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Kyoto’s most popular attractions. Founded in 778, it is Kyoto’s oldest temple and a designated Japanese National Treasure. Jishu Shrine, located north of Kiyomizu-dera’s main hall, is a shrine where visitors pray for good relationships and romance. (Admission: adults: 400 yen, elementary and junior high school students: 200 yen) Admission fees are at your own expense. 【Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka】Located outside Kiyomizu-dera, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka are slopes with Kyoto’s distinctive charm. They have been designated a “Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings” in Japan. Traditional Japanese buildings with an old-world charm line both sides of the stone-paved streets. The atmosphere is distinctly Japanese, and the many local foods and handicrafts, including paper fans, dolls, and chopsticks, are a feast for the eyes. 【Ishibei-koji Lane】Turn right at the end of Ninenzaka and continue walking north to find Ishibei-koji Lane. There are fewer visitors here, and elegant traditional Japanese houses line both sides of this cobblestone lane. It feels as if time has turned back, taking you away from the bustle and into a world of quiet. 【Gion・Hanamikoji Street】A famous historic geisha district. In the 1960s, Kyoto was home to nearly 1,000 geisha. Today, dozens of geisha instructors still teach traditional tea ceremony, flower arranging, koto, gagaku, kyogen, maiko, bunraku, and more. Step into the district and you’ll be enveloped by its old-world charm: quaint teahouses line both sides of the street, their wooden lattice doors and windows closed… This mysterious lane runs north to south for about 1 kilometer. The northern section is modern, while the southern section is traditional; each has its own character and charm. 【Yasaka Shrine】A shrine in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, and one of the best-known and oldest shrines in the Kansai region. There are dedicated areas for drawing omikuji fortunes, writing ema prayer plaques, and purchasing omamori charms. Ema come in a wide variety of designs, and the heart-shaped plaques for prayers about romance are especially popular. (You can sample Kyoto’s local cuisine for lunch at your own expense, admire the old buildings steeped in Japanese charm, and keep snapping photos on your phone and camera.) 【16:30】Enjoy the end of the day’s sightseeing and begin the return journey. The return time is for reference only; you may return earlier if the day’s schedule goes smoothly or traffic conditions are favorable. 【18:00】Guests who boarded at the Osaka meeting point will be dropped off in the Shinsaibashi area, where the tour ends. 【Shinsaibashi】: Osaka’s most famous shopping street, home to major department stores, chain drugstores, long-established shops, and small boutiques. There is something for every budget and style, including Hello Kitty and Disney specialty stores. It is also a popular area for drugstores, where you can browse cosmetics and skincare products. Most shops have Chinese-speaking staff and accept UnionPay, making shopping easy and enjoyable. 【Dotonbori】: The very definition of Osaka cuisine, this street is bustling day and night. As the birthplace of Osaka’s “eat until you drop” food culture, Dotonbori is packed with local favorites such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and Kinryu Ramen. You’ll also find traditional Japanese izakaya and popular restaurants that have gone viral online, such as Kani Doraku, a favorite among Chinese visitors.
