Bald Hill Lookout offers sweeping views south over Wollongong and is renowned as an internationally recognised hang-gliding destination. From here, you can see the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, which spans Lawrence Hargrave Drive along a 140-kilometre award-winning coastal road that begins at Royal National Park, a 45-minute drive south of Sydney. The first of three missing sections of the Great Southern Walk has been completed. The new one-kilometre trail features more than 400 sandstone steps linking bushland and beach. This newly opened section from Bald Hill to Stanwell Park completes the connection between Royal National Park and Illawarra Escarpment State Conservation Area. On 12 November 1894, Australian aviation pioneer Lawrence Hargrave successfully flew from the beach below Bald Hill. A memorial cairn has been erected for him at the summit. Wollongong Head Lighthouse, also known as Flagstaff Hill Lighthouse or Flagstaff Point Light, is an operational lighthouse in the coastal city of Wollongong, south of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, next to the heritage-listed Wollongong Harbour precinct. It stands at the tip of Flagstaff Point, overlooking the Tasman Sea, just east of the city center. Wollongong is the only city on Australia’s east coast with two lighthouses located close to each other; the other is Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse.

Nan Tien Temple (English: Nan Tien Temple) is located in the Berkeley area of Wollongong, 80 kilometers south of Sydney, Australia, and covers approximately 22 hectares. The temple has a built-up area of 11,000 square meters. A branch of Fo Guang Shan, it was funded and built by Master Hsing Yun. Construction began in 1992 and was completed in 1995.
