14. Helpful tips: All travelers must wear life jackets when riding speedboats and follow the tour guide’s instructions. If travelers fail to comply with these requirements and suffer accidental bodily injury, the travel agency will only assist with processing the accident insurance claim and will bear no liability. If weather or other force majeure factors make it impossible to go out to sea, the tour guide will make temporary adjustments to that day’s itinerary. Thailand is entering a season of rougher seas. Travel Information
1. Preparations before travel:
① Thailand’s Immigration Bureau requires visitors entering Thailand to have at least 20,000 baht or RMB 4,000 in cash available for inspection. To prevent illegal immigration and unauthorized labor, the bureau requires every visitor to Thailand to carry at least 20,000 baht or RMB 4,000 to ensure they have sufficient living expenses during their stay. If a spot check finds that you are not carrying enough cash, the Immigration Bureau has the right to deny you entry (our travel agency is obligated to remind and inform you).
② Travel documents: Be sure to bring your own passport (and visa), especially for inspection when entering or leaving a country. Keep these documents with you at all times and store them safely. Before departure, we strongly recommend making a copy of each document and placing them, along with several passport photos, in your hand luggage. Also note down your passport number in case of emergency. If your documents are lost, stolen, or robbed, immediately inform the travel agency and report it to the police. A spare photocopy can quickly help prove your identity. Also ask the police to issue written proof of the loss. If necessary, apply for an exit visa from the country you are in and contact the Chinese embassy or consulate there to apply for replacement documents.
③ Clothing: Choose your clothing according to the seasonal conditions at your destination. Thailand has a tropical monsoon climate, with three seasons throughout the year: hot, rainy, and cool. The average annual temperature is 24–30°C. Please bring swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and other items so you can enjoy the sea. As Thailand is a tropical country with many mosquitoes and other insects, take special care to repel them and bring insect repellent.
④ Items to bring: Pack light and bring only what you need to avoid losses. Please bring your own toothbrush and other toiletries, and slippers, as hotels in Southeast Asia do not provide these items, mainly for environmental and personal hygiene reasons. Please also bring daily necessities such as an umbrella, sunglasses, and skincare products, as these are more expensive abroad. Be sure to bring essential and commonly used medicines (such as cold medicine, anti-diarrhea medicine, motion sickness medicine, and insect repellent) in case you feel unwell.
2. Traveler responsibility reminder:
①Tour group participants must travel on their own personal passports. Thailand offers visas on arrival. If passport-related issues arise during immigration and affect the itinerary, guests are solely responsible for any resulting losses (including the tour fee) and related liabilities.
② Visitors traveling on non-Chinese passports must bring their return visa and all other relevant documents. If you cannot enter or leave a country because of document or return-visa issues, you are responsible.
③ Group tours are group activities, with everyone departing and returning together. Please be punctual so as not to delay other group members’ sightseeing. No one may overstay or fail to return.
④ Visitors must not visit or take part in any activities that violate the laws and regulations of our country, public morals, or the relevant laws, customs, religious practices, or taboos of the travel destination.
3. Travel safety precautions:
(1) [Property Safety]:
①During your time abroad, avoid carrying large amounts of cash or valuables. You may bring an international credit card and a UnionPay card.
② Do not place cash or valuables in checked baggage. If your luggage is lost, these items are not covered by compensation. Under standard airline policy, branded or expensive luggage that is damaged or lost is compensated at the rate for ordinary luggage, with no additional payment for its higher value (unless separately insured). Do not keep valuables in coat pockets or easily punctured handbags either. Do not leave cash or valuables in your hotel room or tour vehicle. You may store them at the hotel front desk or in the in-room safe (be sure to keep the receipt and key and remember the safe’s combination).
③ If you discover that money or belongings are missing or have been stolen—for example, if they are lost at the airport or hotel—contact the relevant party to resolve the matter. You may report it to the police as appropriate, and ask them to issue a detailed loss report.
④ Never display valuables in public places, and do not count cash in front of others while shopping.
⑤ Keep your belongings with you during the trip; do not leave valuables on the vehicle. Take care during free time, and preferably leave your travel documents in the hotel safe;
(2) [Sightseeing Safety]:
①When taking photos or videos, check for signs prohibiting photography and watch out for passing vehicles. Do not stop in areas marked with hazard warnings.
② If you plan to take part in an exhilarating activity, be sure to act within your limits. People with heart disease, lung disease, asthma, or high blood pressure must not take part in water or high-altitude activities. When swimming in the sea, do not go beyond the safety boundary. If you are not a confident swimmer, do not enter the water alone.
③ When snorkeling, be sure to wear a life jacket, listen to the staff's instructions, and practice using the breathing mask on the boat. If you feel unwell, do not enter the water.
④ For water activities such as swimming, parasailing, banana boating, riding a doughnut-shaped inflatable, rafting, underwater walking, diving, snorkeling, and other thrilling activities, visitors must assess their own health and participate only if appropriate. These activities are absolutely unsuitable for people with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, pregnant women, people with asthma, young children, older adults, anyone in poor health, or anyone with a known medical condition.
⑤ When traveling by speedboat or long-tail boat, always wear a life jacket, hold on firmly, and remain seated. Do not move around. Passengers under 55 and those who are physically frail should sit as close to the stern as possible to avoid injury from the boat jolting in rough seas.
(3) [Accommodation Safety]
①If someone says they have brought something to your room, call the front desk to confirm before opening the door.
② Always close and lock your room door when entering or leaving, and keep your room key safe. Familiarize yourself with the hotel’s evacuation signs, including safety routes and emergency exits. In the event of a fire, leave quickly via an emergency exit; do not use the elevator. If going out at night or during free time, inform your tour guide or group leader, and go in groups of three or more. Before leaving, pick up the hotel’s business card at the front desk in case you get lost, and take particular care to stay safe.
③ When exercising in the hotel gym or swimming pool, take care to protect yourself. Check the hotel pool's opening hours; never enter the pool before it opens. Do not swim alone, and wait a while after eating before getting into the water to avoid cramps.
④ Before checking out each time, please check your luggage and belongings, paying particular attention to your ID, important documents, and valuables, to avoid losing anything in the rush.
(4) [Shopping Safety]:
Shop carefully and be alert to counterfeit or substandard goods. Think it over before buying to avoid the hassle of returns. When trying on clothes or shoes, ask a fellow traveler to accompany you and keep an eye on your belongings. Most countries offer tax refunds for shopping. Ask the store about the specific refund requirements, request a tax refund cheque, fill it in correctly, and have it stamped by customs.
(5) [Personal Safety]:
① Stay away from drugs and other related prohibited items. Do not carry any luggage or belongings for other people when entering or leaving the country.
② When traveling by car or boat, do not put your head or hands out of the window. Watch for passing vehicles and take care of your personal safety when getting on or off. When traveling by boat, speedboat, or other watercraft, be sure to wear a life jacket. In Thailand, vehicles drive on the left, opposite to China, so watch for traffic when crossing the road.
③ If a traffic accident occurs, do not panic. Take steps to help yourself and others, protect the accident scene, and promptly notify your tour leader and the police. In an emergency, stay calm and immediately notify the relevant organizations, including the travel agency, rescue services, and insurance company. Keep the originals of all documents, including traffic accident reports (issued by the traffic police), diagnosis certificates and medical receipts (issued by a hospital or medical institution), and forensic examination reports, for submitting an insurance claim later.
④ Please respect the customs and traditions of the country you are visiting, especially in countries with distinctive religious customs, and avoid disputes caused by inappropriate words or behavior.
⑤ In the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster, political unrest, armed conflict, a sudden terrorist incident, or accidental injury, remain calm, evacuate the danger area as soon as possible, and promptly report the incident to the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country concerned, or contact relevant authorities in China to seek rescue and protection.
⑥ If your personal safety is threatened or you are injured, report it to the local police immediately, obtain written proof from the police, and ask them to apprehend the perpetrators or provide protection.
⑦ We strongly recommend that every traveler purchase personal travel accident insurance. However, the following are not covered by insurance claims: war, armed conflict, strikes, pre-existing medical conditions, and high-risk activities such as scuba diving, rock climbing, and bungee jumping. Please confirm that the activities in your travel itinerary are covered. If you have any questions, check with your insurance company or insurance agent.
⑧ Guests traveling with children should keep them close to prevent them from getting lost or injured. Please follow the arrangements made by the tour guide and staff, and do not wander off on your own.
⑨ During transportation, accommodation, dining, sightseeing, and other activities, tourists should pay attention to and comply with all relevant warnings, notices, instructions, reminders, and other posted information at the locations.
(6) Travel Destination Information:
① Thai Customs allows each person to bring in only 1 carton of cigarettes (200 cigarettes) and 1 bottle of alcohol (1 liter). Anyone carrying more than these limits will be severely penalized, and the travel agency cannot help resolve the matter. Please take note!
②) Thailand’s Grand Palace has strict dress requirements. Please dress appropriately; sleeveless tops, shorts, slippers, and similar attire are not permitted. Please observe the customs of this Buddhist country (consult your tour guide for advice).
③ Thai customs prohibit casually touching another person's head. When greeting Thai people, press your palms together instead of shaking hands. Do not point at people or objects with your feet.
④ In Thailand, visitors should not casually criticize or discuss the royal family.
⑤ Gambling is prohibited in Thailand. Playing cards or mahjong is not allowed, even in hotel rooms.
⑥ Some activities in Thailand are unsuitable for children under 18, such as spa massages and adult shows. Please consult your tour guide or tour leader at the time.
⑦ Power specifications: 220 volts, 50 Hz; two-pin round and three-pin flat outlets.
⑧ Tipping is customary in Thailand. Please respect this international custom.
⑨ Thailand is 1 hour behind Beijing time.
