Itinerary details
Meet in the morning and set off for **Montalcino**, home of the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino wine. Visit a local winery and enjoy a wine tasting, experiencing the unique charm of its cellars and the rich winemaking culture. Then stroll along the town's winding streets and climb to a scenic viewpoint to admire the stunning Tuscan countryside: rolling hills, ancient oak trees, lush olive groves, country lanes winding through vineyards, and cypress trees that together create a classic Tuscan landscape. Remember to bring your camera to capture this breathtaking scenery. Next, head to **Pienza**, known as the “ideal city.” The town was planned and built in the 15th century by architect Bernardo Rossellino, commissioned by Pope Pius II. Explore Renaissance landmarks such as Pienza Cathedral (Duomo) and Palazzo Piccolomini, which was also one of the filming locations for director Franco Zeffirelli's *Romeo and Juliet*. Pienza is also one of the best viewpoints overlooking the Val d'Orcia. Then visit **Montepulciano**, renowned for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and as one of the filming locations for *The Twilight Saga: New Moon*. Tour historic cellars built beneath an ancient winery, sample local wine and Pecorino cheese, and discover Tuscany's long winemaking tradition. At the end of the tour, return to Florence. Duration: approximately 11 hours 30 minutes
