Itinerary details
See giant icebergs in Disko Bay Today, we’ll head out to sea by boat to experience the magnificent icy seascape firsthand. This exciting cruise will take us up close to giant icebergs, especially the breathtaking Ilulissat Glacier. Uniquely located at the edge of town, this glacier’s unusual geography causes enormous chunks of ice to pile up at its outlet, forming a series of spectacular glacial fjords. Whether viewed from afar or up close, this is an awe-inspiring journey across icy waters. New Year’s Eve Dinner At 6 p.m. on December 31, we’ll host a grand New Year’s Eve dinner and warmly invite you to dress up for the occasion. At 9 p.m., the whole town will gather outdoors to welcome the New Year in the Danish time zone. Brilliant fireworks will light up the night sky, making the town look like a picture. After the fireworks, the lively New Year’s party will continue, with the fun going on all night! When the clock strikes midnight, everyone will head outdoors again to celebrate the start of a brand-new year. Hotel Arctic is renowned as the best place to watch the fireworks. Join us and immerse yourself in this dazzling New Year’s celebration.

Day 3
Ilulissat
Itinerary details
We will spend the first day of the New Year in a peaceful and serene atmosphere. This is a special moment to begin the year, and we welcome the next 365 days with a calm mind. Dog Sledding Today, we’ll experience the distinctive adventure of dog sledding. Greenlandic sled dogs are among Greenland’s most iconic symbols. For thousands of years, people have worked alongside these resilient companions, hunting together and helping the Inuit survive in this harsh polar environment. In winter, when the land is frozen, dog sledding is not only the oldest means of transport but also an important link between the scattered villages. During the activity, we’ll travel in pairs with an experienced Inuit hunter, pulled by a team of 12–16 sled dogs across the vast ice fields. We’ll journey through mountain passes and across frozen lakes, as if entering a pristine, tranquil polar world. Searching for the Northern Lights In the evening, we drive away from town to a peaceful spot free of light pollution to admire the Northern Lights. In the night sky, green auroras in various shades drift gently like dancing silk, creating a dreamlike feast of light and color.

Day 4
Ilulissat
Itinerary details
Hiking - Ilulissat Icefjord Today, we head to Ilulissat Icefjord to admire the Ilulissat Glacier, one of the most active glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere. The Ilulissat Glacier produces an astonishing 40 million tons of ice every day, and its grandeur is beyond compare. As we travel through the deep fjord, enormous icebergs piled together come into view. This awe-inspiring sight leaves us speechless—and it is precisely for wonders like this that we have traveled so far to Greenland! UNESCO designated Ilulissat Icefjord a World Heritage Site in 2004. Icefjord Centre In the afternoon, we visit the Arctic Icefjord Centre. As one of the most active glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere, the Ilulissat Glacier has been systematically monitored since 1850, providing scientists with important information for studying global climate change. The Ilulissat Icefjord Centre was completed in June 2021 and opened to the public. The centre blends beautifully into the magnificent natural surroundings, telling the remarkable story of the glacier and Greenland’s long history.
