Itinerary details
Meet in Nairobi and drive to Nakuru. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at the hotel and take a short rest. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for a safari. Return to the hotel afterward to rest and have dinner. Lake Nakuru National Park: The park is renowned for its rich birdlife and distinctive ecological scenery. It was designated a bird sanctuary in 1960 and expanded into a national park in 1968, becoming Africa’s first national park established to protect birds. Nakuru is a paradise for bird lovers, with more than 400 bird species, including five globally endangered species, and is an important stop on the African–Eurasian migratory bird route. It was once famous for its flamingos, with huge numbers nesting here—around one-third of the world’s total. The park is also home to 56 mammal species and was the first national rhino sanctuary. Black rhinos, white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and more can be seen here. In recent years, rising lake levels have reduced the flamingo population, making it difficult to get close to the spectacular flocks.

Nakuru–Naivasha
Itinerary details
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for more safari. Then head to Naivasha and check in at the hotel. After lunch and a short rest, drive to Lake Naivasha, where we will take a boat tour from the lakeside pier. Return to the hotel afterward to rest. Lake Naivasha: Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya’s freshwater lakes and is known as the “Jewel of the Rift Valley.” Located about 90 km northwest of Nairobi, it lies within the East African Rift Valley. Extensive papyrus swamps along the shore provide habitat for more than 400 bird species, and the lake has been named one of the world’s top 10 birdwatching sites by the World Bird Society. The lake is home to hippos, perch, African tilapia, and other species. Crescent Island in the lake is a private wildlife sanctuary, home to animals such as zebras and giraffes. The lakeshore is dotted with celebrity homes and hotel clubs dating from the colonial era. Wildlife conservationist Joy Adamson lived here while writing Born Free. III. Travel Precautions:
1. Overview: Kenya is 5 hours behind China. The voltage is 220V/50Hz, and outlets are British-style three-pin square plugs. Please bring a travel adapter.
2. Clothing: The average year-round temperature is around 20°C, with a large difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Bring summer clothes as well as warm outerwear, a dust mask, sunglasses, a hat, and other sun-protective items.
3. Prevention: Before traveling to Kenya, you must get vaccinated at a vaccination center, including against yellow fever. Carry your vaccination certificate (the yellow card) with you when entering the country. Bring common medications such as cold medicine, stomach medicine, anti-diarrheal medicine, mosquito repellent, menthol balm, and medicated oil.
4. Dining: Nairobi has many Chinese restaurants. Restaurants in parks and reserves generally serve Western-style buffets or set menus. If you prefer stronger flavors, you can bring condiments such as chili sauce and pickles. The tap water in hotels has a high mineral and salt content and is not well purified, so we recommend that you do not drink it directly. Please do not wear shorts, slippers, or similar attire in restaurants.
5. Sightseeing: When visiting parks and reserves, please be a considerate visitor: do not speak loudly, go beyond designated areas, or litter. Do not photograph local people without permission. If you wish to photograph members of local indigenous communities, please ask their permission in advance. If you visit local indigenous communities, schools, welfare institutions, or similar places, we recommend preparing small gifts in advance, such as stationery, clothing, candy, or chocolate.
6. Accommodation: Given the limited level of local development in Africa, hotel standards are generally lower than those in China. Hotels generally do not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers, and similar items. Some hotels in reserves have limited hours for electricity and hot water; please confirm the hours with the hotel front desk when you check in.
7. Vehicles: Local tour vehicles in Kenya are not air-conditioned. Road conditions are poor, and roads can be bumpy and dusty. If the vehicle breaks down or gets a flat tire, please remain calm; your experienced guide will promptly resolve the problem.
8. Customs: Kenya was formerly a British colony and follows the customs of English-speaking countries. Please tip service staff for their assistance.
9. Shopping: Shopping stops are not compulsory on tours in Kenya. However, all restrooms along the way to scenic areas are located inside shops and are free to use.
10. No smoking: Kenya is a smoke-free country. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas; please confirm the location with staff. Smoking in vehicles is strictly prohibited!
11. Safety: For your safety, do not leave the group or get out of the vehicle without staff permission. After checking into a hotel, be aware of wildlife within the hotel grounds. Do not approach animals, make noise to scare them, or feed them. Be sure to purchase travel accident insurance before your trip!
12. Regulations: Kenya protects its wildlife. It is strictly prohibited to purchase or carry any wildlife products across the border, whether entering or leaving the country.

Tour Information
I. Before You Travel:
1. Clothing: Temperatures in most parts of Kenya range from around 15–25°C throughout the year, with large differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Choose lightweight, versatile clothing and shoes. We recommend summer clothing paired with warm layers for autumn weather, mainly long sleeves and trousers, to protect against the sun and insects. Local areas can be dusty, so choose dust-resistant, easy-to-clean fabrics and colors to prevent damage to your clothes and shoes.
International weather forecast reference website http://www.worldweather.cn
2. Toiletries: In consideration of the environment, most local hotels do not provide personal toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, or slippers. Please bring your own. Hotels provide only shampoo, body wash, and bath towels.
3. Sun protection: Africa’s UV rays are strong. Please bring sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a mask.
4. Insects: You can bring medicated balm, insect repellent, insect-repellent patches, and other products to prevent bites and relieve itching.
5. Medication: Travel agency staff are not medical professionals and do not provide medication to clients. We recommend bringing medicines you regularly use, as appropriate for your needs, such as cold medicine, gastrointestinal medicine, motion sickness medicine, and antidiarrheal medicine, as well as adhesive bandages. If you have any underlying health conditions, be sure to bring your medication as prescribed, especially if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes.
6. Electricity: Kenya’s standard voltage is 240 volts at 50 hertz. Outlets are British-style three-pin sockets; please bring a travel adapter.
7. Communications: Before departure, please activate international roaming on your mobile phone in your home country to ensure it works abroad, in case of emergencies and to make it easier to contact others.
8. Luggage: The trunks of safari vehicles are small, so please do not bring large suitcases. Soft-sided fabric bags measuring 24–26 inches are best. Hard-shell or plastic suitcases and bulky shapes are not recommended, as they may not fit. Avoid bringing expensive branded suitcases to prevent wear and damage. If you will be taking a domestic flight in Kenya, the baggage allowance is limited to one soft-sided bag weighing no more than 15 kg. [Plastic bags are banned in Kenya; please do not bring plastic packaging for secondary use.]
9. Cash: Exchange some US dollars and Kenyan shillings in advance. For daily expenses, if you plan to exchange money into shillings and have no major purchases, exchange USD 100 per person. If carrying US dollars, bring USD 800 per person. US dollar bills of any age with marks or stains are not accepted, and bills issued before 2016 are not accepted. [Reminder: You can exchange money into shillings at the airport. Bring a Visa or UnionPay card. When exchanging US dollars, check the year of issue.]
10. Credit cards: International VISA or MasterCard credit cards. Cards with magnetic stripes may not work reliably in many places, so we recommend bringing a chip-enabled card.
11. Gifts: If you plan to visit local people, indigenous villages, residents' homes, or children's welfare homes, we recommend bringing small gifts such as stationery, snacks, or clothing.
12. Food and drink: If you are used to drinking hot water, you may bring an electric kettle. (The travel agency provides each guest with two complimentary 500 ml bottles of mineral water per day, and one complimentary 500 ml bottle is provided in each hotel room. If you run out, you can purchase more at a supermarket or the hotel restaurant or bar.) If you have special dietary requirements for religious or health reasons, please inform local staff in advance. You may also bring snacks, side dishes, or chili sauce to suit your taste.
13. Other: We recommend bringing wet wipes, a hair dryer, and other essentials.
14. [Wi-Fi] Free Wi-Fi is available in most public places, such as airports, hotels, and restaurants;
15. [SIM card] Our driver will give you a SIM card when picking you up. Please keep the SIM card and its holder. After being dropped off at the end of the trip, return them to your driver-guide. The SIM card includes 8 GB of data, which is normally sufficient. If you run out, the driver can show you how to top up your data on the spot.
II. Entry Information:
1. Documents: Carry your original passport, a color printout of your Kenya eTA, the original yellow fever vaccination certificate (vaccination is required only if you are traveling to Kenya via a yellow-fever-risk area such as Africa), your round-trip flight itinerary, and hotel booking confirmation (or travel agency itinerary).
2. Immigration: After getting off the plane, follow the signs to the Passport Control (or Immigration) counters. Join the shortest line and get your passport stamped (greet the immigration officer and present your passport and other documents). Make sure your passport is stamped, and do not leave until it has been returned to you.
3. Baggage claim: Go to the Baggage Hall and find the carousel for your flight on the TV screens. After collecting your luggage, carefully check your suitcase for any unusual markings (such as chalk crosses, circles, or check marks). If you find any, you can discreetly remove them in the restroom to avoid being stopped by customs.
4. Customs regulations: It is strictly prohibited to bring firearms, weapons, drugs, or other prohibited items into the country. It is strictly prohibited to purchase or carry any animal products. Drones may not be brought into the country unless you have obtained special approval in advance and hold the relevant documents. Fresh fruit, animals, plants, and similar items are also prohibited. Each person may bring in no more than: 1 liter of alcohol, 250 milliliters of perfume, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, and 250 grams of tobacco. You may not carry more than USD 5,000 in cash when entering or leaving Kenya. New goods valued at more than USD 500 are subject to tax as required by law. (Do not buy luxury goods at duty-free shops to bring into the country.)
5. Photography: Do not take photographs anywhere inside or outside the airport, including the parking lot.
6. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited anywhere at Kenyan airports, including indoors, outdoors, and in parking lots.
7. Reminder: When entering the country, if you have not violated any rules (your documents are complete, your luggage contains no prohibited items, and your conduct is appropriate) and locals maliciously demand a tip, you may ignore them, refrain from responding, and refuse directly.
III. During the Trip:
1. Time difference: Nairobi, Kenya, is in the UTC+3 time zone, while Beijing, China, is in the UTC+8 time zone. Kenya is 5 hours behind Beijing. For example, when it is 22:00 in Beijing, it is 17:00 in Nairobi.
2. Currency: Kenya’s commonly used currencies are the Kenyan shilling and the US dollar, with the shilling being more widely used. You can exchange US dollars for Kenyan shillings at the airport, hotel front desks, or professional exchange offices.
3. Safety: Please take care of your personal safety and belongings. Do not leave the group on your own or wander the streets. Keep money, phones, jewelry, and other valuables out of sight. Always wear your seat belt while traveling by vehicle. Keep the windows closed on roads in towns to guard against drive-by thieves. Keep valuables with you.
4. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited indoors, in public places, and in some outdoor areas in Kenya. Hotels and restaurants have designated smoking areas. Please check with nearby staff before smoking; otherwise, you may face a fine or detention.
5. Food and drink: Do not drink tap water directly; we recommend bottled mineral water. (The travel agency provides each person with two complimentary 500 ml bottles of mineral water per day, and each hotel room comes with one complimentary 500 ml bottle. If you run out, you can buy more at a supermarket or the hotel restaurant or bar.) Pay attention to what you eat during the trip to avoid stomach problems or discomfort from unfamiliar food and water; choose warm foods where possible.
6. Tips: It is customary to tip service staff in Kenya, such as porters and restaurant servers. After each service, a tip of about 200 local shillings (approximately USD 1–2) is customary. For local drivers and guides, each guest should tip about 700–1,500 local shillings per service (approximately USD 5–10 per person).
7. Accommodation: Hotel standards in Kenya may be lower than those in China or other developed countries. Hotels in scenic areas are not star-rated; most are locally styled African wooden cabins, stone houses, or tented rooms. Please lock doors and windows when staying at the hotel, keep valuables with you when going out, and do not smoke in non-smoking rooms. Please settle any hotel expenses yourself before checkout. Hotels may be located within or near wildlife reserves, where animals may appear. Please pay attention to your surroundings when walking around the hotel grounds, and call hotel security to accompany you if necessary.
8. Dress: Please dress appropriately in public places such as hotels and Western restaurants, and respect local culture. Avoid revealing clothing. Five-star hotels and formal restaurants in Kenya do not allow entry in shorts or slippers.
9. Electricity and Water: The local power supply is unstable, and power outages are common in restaurants and hotels, so please do not be alarmed. Low water pressure and inconsistent hot and cold water in hotel showers are also common. To conserve energy and protect the environment, hotels in scenic areas may turn off the power at set times. Please charge your electronic devices and finish washing up within the designated hours.
10. Photography: Do not take photos on the street, to avoid having your phone or camera snatched. Do not photograph local government offices, police, or similar subjects. Before photographing local people, please ask for their permission or agree on a fee.
11. Customs: Please avoid discussing skin color, politics, religion, and similar topics with people of other nationalities.
IV. Safari in Progress:
1. Departure time: You can arrange the next day's departure time with the driver-guide each day. The driver-guide will wait for you at the agreed location 15 minutes in advance. The driver-guide's tip is US$15 per person per day. As distances are long and driving times can be lengthy, we recommend departing at around 7:30 a.m. to avoid delaying the itinerary. The unpaved roads can be dusty, so please take precautions against dust.
2. Safety tips: Always fasten your seat belt as soon as you get in the vehicle. Do not put any part of your body outside the window while the vehicle is moving, and watch out for drive-by thieves when taking photos with your phone or camera. Once the vehicle’s roof is open, do not stand while it is moving. Remain seated and keep your seat belt fastened!
3. Stops along the way: Souvenir shops along the route have rest stops, and businesses welcome you to use the restrooms free of charge. If you do not wish to buy souvenirs, do not feel pressured, but please do not rush the driver to leave. Drivers usually live outside Nairobi and may have to get up at four or five in the morning to set off. Please allow them enough time to rest and have breakfast, so they can stay alert and physically refreshed, helping to ensure a safer journey. Likewise, on a long drive, you may need to use the restrooms at souvenir shops. If you do not plan to shop, we suggest tipping US$1–2 to encourage the staff who provide cleaning services without requiring a purchase.
4. Shopping: The business activities of souvenir shops are unrelated to the travel agency. Please make your own decisions; the travel agency accepts no responsibility for the prices or quality of goods. Buying or selling any wildlife products is strictly prohibited!
5. Unexpected situations: The roads to attractions are long and generally in average condition. Due to the long drives, tour vehicles may break down, get a flat tire, or become stuck. These are normal situations and are within the driver’s control. If this happens, please do not panic; be patient while the driver handles it, keep a calm attitude, and avoid complaining. Treat it as part of the memorable safari experience. A calm mindset will help make your trip relaxing and enjoyable.
6. Sightseeing guidelines: Tour vehicles must follow established tracks when driving across the grasslands. Do not pressure the driver to leave the road and drive onto the grass, as this may result in a fine or expulsion from the park. Predators may be hidden in the grasslands. When the vehicle is stopped on the grasslands, do not open the door or get out unless the driver signals that it is safe. When viewing animals, follow park rules: do not speak loudly, throw anything at the animals, or occupy any viewing spot for more than 10 minutes. 【Please strictly observe visiting hours in reserves and parks. You must leave the reserve and return to the hotel by 6:00 p.m. at the latest; otherwise, you may be fined or expelled from the park.】
7. Other Important Notes: Please do not violate local laws and regulations. Do not operate a drone without authorization to take photos, as this may result in confiscation of the equipment, substantial fines, detention, or imprisonment.
V. Other Notes:
1. Force majeure: If weather, war, strikes, earthquakes, or other circumstances beyond human control prevent visits to attractions, our agency will refund the entrance fees for attractions not visited in accordance with the travel agency agreement. Expenses already incurred and the costs of complimentary items are non-refundable;
2. Personal circumstances: If travelers voluntarily give up sightseeing at short notice for personal reasons, fees for hotel accommodation, meals, transport, etc. are non-refundable;
3. Feedback: Quality feedback form. We handle guest feedback based on the completed Guest Evaluation Form. Please fill it out fairly, impartially, and truthfully;
VI. Convention on Civilized Tourism Abroad for Chinese Citizens:

Maintain good hygiene and protect the environment; dress appropriately and do not make noise.
Respect the elderly and care for the young; lend a helping hand. Ladies first; be courteous and considerate.
