Cadiz’s Hidden Gems: 7-Day Southern Spain Experience
Enjoy comfortable transport throughout and carefully selected 4-star hotels, paired with a semi-independent dining experience (including daily breakfast and dinner)—ideal for travelers seeking an in-depth exploration of culture, history, and nature.
Sanlúcar de Barrameda
A famous wine-producing town in Andalusia, located at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, with a long sherry-making tradition and a beautiful coastline. It’s an ideal place to sample authentic seafood and explore traditional Spanish markets.
Vejer de la Frontera
The “white town on the cliffs” is known for its winding cobbled lanes and white courtyards overflowing with flowers. It is one of Andalusia’s most atmospheric hill towns.
Baelo Claudia Archaeological Site
Exceptionally well-preserved Roman city ruins, located on the coast of Tarifa overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, revealing the glorious history of the ancient empire and maritime civilizations at their crossroads.
Historic city of Cádiz (Cádiz ciudad histórica)
Known as the “Silver Cup,” this Atlantic port city has a history spanning more than three thousand years and is one of Europe’s oldest cities. Stroll among the cathedral, Plaza de las Flores, the city walls and charming old streets, and immerse yourself in its unique blend of Mediterranean and Moorish cultures.
Medina Sidonia
A medieval town where Arab and Gothic influences meet, perched on a hill with views across the Cádiz region. It is an important base for learning about Andalusia’s Islamic history and aristocratic culture.
White Villages — Ubrique & Arcos de la Frontera
A striking blend of pure-white stone walls, steep lanes, and mountain scenery, this area is known as the “Heart of the White Villages.” Ubrique is famous for its leather craftsmanship, while Arcos is one of the most iconic hilltop towns.
Day 1
Departure point – Cádiz coast
Depart from the designated meeting points for the Cádiz coast. Brief stop en route (lunch at your own expense). Arrive at the hotel, check in, and relax.
Day 2
Sanlúcar – Vejer
After breakfast, head to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a town at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, one of Andalusia’s most important estuaries. We’ll visit its historic center, with plenty of free time to sample Sanlúcar’s famous langoustines. Return to the hotel after lunch. In the afternoon, follow the “Route of the White Villages” (Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos) to Vejer de la Frontera, a town that retains the characteristic look of an Andalusian white village: cobbled streets, colorful garden patios and numerous historic buildings. After the visit, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Optional itinerary: Baelo Claudia Archaeological Site and Tarifa
Breakfast and dinner are included in the hotel half-board package (lunch at your own expense). You may opt for a full-day excursion at an additional cost, visiting the ancient ruins of Baelo Claudia and the town of Tarifa, with a guided tour. The itinerary takes you on an in-depth exploration of one of the best-preserved ancient Roman sites: the ancient city of Baelo Claudia. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Tarifa and have lunch at your own expense. Tarifa is one of the southernmost towns in mainland Europe. Located across the Strait of Gibraltar, it is an excellent spot for viewing the African continent and an important window into Islamic cultural heritage. After the tour, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 4
Cadiz
After breakfast, depart for the city of Cadiz for a tour with an official guide. Known as the “Silver Cup of the Atlantic,” Cadiz is an ancient city by the sea. Starting in the old town, we’ll explore its most iconic streets and neighborhoods. The tour will stop at places such as Plaza de la Catedral and Plaza del Pueblo. After the guided tour, enjoy free time (lunch at your own expense) to explore downtown Cadiz. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Jerez de la Frontera – Medina Sidonia
After breakfast, head to Jerez, a city renowned internationally for sherry, equestrian arts and flamenco. We’ll visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, the birthplace of the world-famous “How the Andalusian Horses Dance” show. Return to the hotel after lunch. In the afternoon, you can optionally visit Medina Sidonia, a city founded by the Phoenicians, later ruled by the Arabs until 1264, and eventually recaptured by the Christians. With a guide, we’ll explore its ancient streets and learn about the history of this hilltop town, shaped by many civilizations. Highlights include the Mirador viewpoint, the private Cathedral of Santa María, the Gate of the Coronation of Our Lady, the Nativity Gate, the Bethlehem Gate, the Monastery of San Salvador and Plaza de España. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6
Optional excursion: Explore the White Villages
Today’s accommodation includes half board (breakfast and dinner). You can opt to join the full-day optional excursion, 【White Hill Town Route】, which includes lunch at a restaurant. The itinerary begins in Ubrique, renowned for its leather craftsmanship, before continuing to Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most populous and largest white villages in the Sierra de Cádiz. Built on a rocky promontory, the town’s historic center is located around Plaza del Cabildo. Its main sights include historic buildings such as the Church of Santa María.
