This carefully planned 7-day Nordic circuit takes you to the highlights of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Start in fairy-tale Copenhagen, visit Stockholm’s royal city and the Olympic town of Lillehammer, and venture into Norway’s most spectacular landscapes at Briksdal Glacier and Sognefjord. Ride the “world’s most beautiful railway,” the Flåm Railway, and experience the dramatic meeting of mountains and fjords. Explore Oslo City Hall and the sculpture park, then travel via Gothenburg back to Copenhagen, taking in the very best of Nordic nature and city life!
Copenhagen - Denmark
This fairytale capital is filled with Nordic elegance and warmth. Visit the seaside Little Mermaid Statue, honoring the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale The Little Mermaid; stroll in front of Amalienborg Palace to take in the splendor of the royal guard; and explore City Hall Square and the pedestrian street in the city center, where history and modern life blend—an ideal place to experience the Danish pace of life.
Stockholm - Sweden
Known as the “Venice of the North,” this elegant city is made up of 14 islands surrounded by shimmering waters. Visit the【City Hall】and its dazzling “Golden Hall” to experience the grandeur of the Nobel banquet; the【Vasa Ship Museum】preserves the splendor of a 17th-century shipwreck. Stroll through the old town to the【Cathedral】and【Royal Palace】and experience the weight of the kingdom’s history.
Lillehammer
Nestled beside Norway’s largest lake, Lake Mjøsa, this small town hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics. Surrounded by mountains and peaceful waters, it is a stunning miniature of the Nordic landscape, where mountains and lakes meet. Although the itinerary does not include a visit, the natural scenery along the way is enchanting.
Briksdal Glacier - Norway
Part of Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in mainland Europe. Ride an electric vehicle deep into a lush green valley, then walk to the foot of the glacier and gaze up at its 346-meter blue-and-white ice wall. Witnessing this wonder, shaped by nature over millions of years, is one of the most awe-inspiring highlights of the trip.
Stegastein Viewpoint + Aurlandsfjord
A glass viewing platform suspended above the fjord offers sweeping views of a picturesque landscape where mountains, rivers, and lakes come together. A branch of the Sognefjord, the Aurlandsfjord is framed by lush mountains and cascading waterfalls, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts. On a clear day, it feels like standing before a “mirror of the sky.”
Sognefjord Cruise
Known as the “King of the Fjords,” it is the world’s longest and deepest fjord. Take a sightseeing cruise deep into the fjord, where mountains plunge vertically into the sea, waterfalls cascade down the cliffs, and villages dot the shoreline. The scenery is picturesque all the way, as if you’ve reached the end of the world.
Flåm Railway
This 20-kilometer railway climbs to an elevation of 800 meters. Along the way, you’ll see alpine waterfalls, forested valleys, and pastoral villages—a modern engineering marvel on one side and a quiet tribute to Norway’s pristine nature on the other.
Oslo - Norway
Visit the magnificent City Hall and experience the solemn atmosphere of the Nobel Peace Prize; stroll through Vigeland Sculpture Park and admire more than 200 statues inspired by the many facets of life, created by master sculptor Gustav Vigeland—profound in meaning and moving in their artistry.
Gothenburg - Sweden
A major trading hub on the west coast, it is home to the largest port in the Nordic countries. The imposing Poseidon statue in the city center symbolizes the city’s deep connection with the sea. The distinctive fish market and ancient churches showcase the area’s unique local culture.
Day 1
Copenhagen - Jönköping
Set out in the morning for a sightseeing tour of Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Copenhagen, capital of the fairy-tale kingdom of Denmark, brings back childhood memories. The seaside statue of the Little Mermaid is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid and, especially since the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, has become a symbol of Denmark for many people. The Royal Guards in front of Amalienborg Palace also look as if they stepped out of an Andersen fairy tale. If you’re lucky, you may even see the ceremonial changing of the guard! Then visit City Hall Square, the Hans Christian Andersen statue, Nyhavn and other sights, followed by free time along the city’s pedestrian streets. After lunch, set off north by road toward Stockholm, the “Venice of the North,” and stay overnight in Jönköping, a city in southern Sweden.
Day 2
Jönköping - Stockholm
Set out in the morning for Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Located on the shores of Lake Mälaren, Stockholm is a captivating city that blends old and new. It is home to many well-preserved medieval landmarks, while also showcasing the fresh, clean and elegant character of a modern metropolis. With its lush city parks, orderly neighborhoods and rows of shops, it is known as “the most beautiful city in Northern Europe.” After lunch, begin a sightseeing tour of Stockholm. First visit the impressive City Hall, whose “Blue Hall” hosts the Nobel Prize banquet, while the “Golden Hall” is dazzlingly decorated with 19 million pieces of gilded mosaic. Then visit the Old Parliament House and the Vasa Museum, home to a 17th-century shipwreck. Continue to admire historic buildings such as the Royal Palace and the cathedral, and experience the regal splendor of the Scandinavian kingdom.
Day 3
Stockholm - Lillehammer
Depart from Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, in the morning and travel to Lillehammer in southeastern Norway. The town sits beside Norway’s largest lake, Lake Mjøsa. Although its population is less than 23,000, Lillehammer is known around the world for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. Along the way, you’ll pass through a beautiful stretch of natural scenery and experience the peaceful Nordic landscape of mountains and lakes. Please note: Today’s itinerary passes through Lillehammer only; no city sightseeing is planned.
Day 4
Lillehammer - Briksdal Glacier - Sogndal
Set out in the morning for Norway’s famous Briksdal Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in mainland Europe, located within the protected **Jostedalsbreen National Park**. The glacier covers 486 square kilometers, reaches a depth of 400 meters at its deepest point, and rises to an altitude of 1,950 meters at its highest point—a true giant among glaciers. Upon arrival, take an eco-friendly electric vehicle into the valley. Along the way, enjoy lush forests, blooming wildflowers, babbling streams, rushing mountain brooks, and waterfalls cascading down the mountainside—the scenery is like a painting. After about half an hour, you’ll reach the vehicle’s terminus. A walk of around 10 minutes brings you close to the spectacular Briksdal Glacier, which rises 346 meters. In the afternoon, head south to the scenic fjord town of Sogndal, ready for the fjord adventure ahead.
Day 5
Sogndal - Stegastein Viewpoint + Aurlandsfjord - Sognefjord Cruise - Flåm
Depart from Sogndal early in the morning and enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery of Norway’s fjord region along the way. First head to the Gudvangen pier and take a ferry across the fjord. On the other side, drive to Flåm, the jewel of the fjord region. In Flåm, enjoy a special ride on the **Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana), hailed as “one of the most beautiful railways in the world.”** The route winds between steep mountain walls, cascading waterfalls and lush green valleys. Its picture-perfect scenery makes it a pilgrimage destination for railway enthusiasts around the world. You can then take an optional trip to Stegastein Viewpoint. Built of glass and steel, this cantilevered platform projects out from the mountainside high above the road, offering views over Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the **Sognefjord**, known as the “King of the Fjords.” Surrounded by towering peaks, drifting clouds and countless waterfalls, the scene feels like a breathtaking landscape painting (subject to the day’s weather and road conditions). Return to Flåm for lunch at noon. In the afternoon, take a sightseeing cruise deep into Sognefjord, the world’s longest and deepest fjord. During the two-hour cruise, admire mountains soaring skyward on either side, villages nestled along the shores and waterfalls cascading like silk—a journey into a fairy-tale world. Return to the hotel in the evening. Relax after dinner and recharge for the next day’s itinerary.
Day 6
Flåm - Oslo
Depart from the fjord village of Flåm in the morning and cross the mountains of central Norway to Oslo, the capital of Norway and a hub where Nordic history and culture meet modern art. First visit Oslo City Hall (Oslo Rådhus), built to mark the 900th anniversary of Oslo’s founding. With its stately exterior and interior decorated in a distinctive Nordic artistic style, the building is the venue for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Every year on December 10, the world’s attention turns here as the King of Norway attends to present the Nobel Peace Prize. This tradition, unlike the presentation of the other Nobel Prizes in Stockholm, Sweden, underscores the prize’s significance as a symbol of international politics and peace. Then visit the world-renowned Vigeland Sculpture Park (Vigelandsparken), also known as Frogner Sculpture Park. The park features more than 200 sculptures, all created by Norwegian master sculptor **Gustav Vigeland**. Centered on “the journey of life,” they portray the many stages of human life, from birth to old age, with moving sincerity. It is the world’s largest sculpture park devoted to the human figure. In the evening, head to the hotel to check in, bringing to a close a day immersed in the culture and art of the capital. Get ready for the final highlights of your trip.
Day 7
Oslo - Gothenburg - Copenhagen
Set out in the morning for Gothenburg, one of Sweden’s major port cities. The port is ice-free year-round and is a major trading gateway between Sweden and Western Europe, facing the northern tip of Denmark. Gothenburg’s famous sights include the statue of Poseidon, the Gothenburg Fish Market and the cathedral, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors from Sweden and abroad every year. In the evening, depart for Copenhagen.
