London
As the UK’s capital, London is not only one of the world’s most influential global cities, but also a place where history and modernity, royalty and everyday life, art and technology come together. See world-famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey, and experience the grandeur and charm of the British royal family. Walk past 10 Downing Street, wait for the Changing of the Guard in front of Buckingham Palace, interact with squirrels in St James’s Park, and admire the silhouettes of the London Eye and Tower Bridge along the River Thames. In the afternoon, visit the British Museum and St Paul’s Cathedral to explore the great legacy of human civilization. Every street in London has a story to tell, making it a paradise for history and culture lovers.
Cambridge
Set on the banks of the River Cam, Cambridge is one of the UK’s best-known university towns, steeped in academic tradition and poetic romance. The famous poet Xu Zhimo wrote the celebrated lines of “Second Farewell to Cambridge” here, adding a touch of emotion and mystery to the city for Chinese readers. Stroll between King’s College and Queens’ College, and you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a classic novel. The Bridge of Sighs spans the River Cam, connecting the rich heritage of centuries-old colleges. Take a traditional punt and glide gently across the water, watching ancient buildings shimmer in the reflections—an unmissable British experience.
York
York is an ancient city steeped in medieval charm, with a history spanning nearly 2,000 years. It was once a center of Roman, Viking, and Saxon rule, and still retains its complete city walls and medieval streets. York Minster is the largest Gothic cathedral in Britain, and its stained-glass windows are breathtaking. Take a stroll along the Roman walls to look out over the city and trace its history. Wander through nostalgic lanes and markets, and it feels as if you have stepped back into medieval Europe. The city also offers an authentic British afternoon tea experience. At a century-old tea room, enjoy a tiered stand of treats and fragrant black tea in a charming historic setting—the perfect expression of British culture.
Edinburgh
As Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh boasts a dramatic cityscape of hills and valleys. The winding lanes of the Old Town and the orderly layout of the New Town reveal the city’s dual charm. Its most famous landmark is Edinburgh Castle, perched atop an extinct volcanic rock and overlooking the entire city—a symbol of Scottish royalty. The Royal Mile runs through the Old Town, lined with traditional shops, museums, and historic buildings. This is not only a cultural hub, but also the place that inspired J.K. Rowling to write Harry Potter. You can even take a short break in one of the cafés where she wrote. The sound of bagpipes in the streets and the sight of kilts also create Edinburgh’s distinctive urban backdrop.
Glenfinnan Viaduct and Loch Ness
Drive to the heart of the Scottish Highlands, with your first stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct. This magnificent stone bridge is famous for the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films and is a dream destination for fans of the magic. Continue north to the peaceful town of Fort Augustus, at the southern end of Loch Ness, where people are still searching for traces of the Loch Ness Monster. The deep, mysterious waters and lakeside towns exude the charm of the Scottish countryside. Traveling among lochs and mountains makes for a perfect combination of nature and legend.
Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond, known as Scotland’s first national park, marks the boundary between the Highlands and the Lowlands. The loch has more than 30 islands of various sizes and boasts breathtaking scenery. In the early morning or at dusk, the mountains and waters shrouded in mist look like a fairyland. Pausing by the loch during your journey to take photos is a wonderful way to appreciate Scotland’s natural beauty.
Lake District National Park
The Lake District is one of England’s most iconic natural landscapes, with rolling mountains, countless lakes, and lush woodlands. Lake Windermere is the largest natural lake in the UK. Visitors can take a lake cruise or ride a century-old steam train through the hills and forests to take in the magnificent scenery. For families, a visit to the Peter Rabbit Museum is recommended to learn more about this beloved British storybook character. The Lake District is more than just a beautiful landscape—it is also a source of inspiration for British literature and Romantic poets.
Manchester
Once at the heart of the Industrial Revolution, Manchester is now a model of modernity living alongside tradition. The city is famous around the world for football, especially Old Trafford, home of Premier League giants Manchester United and a sacred ground for countless fans. Beyond football, Manchester also boasts a rich industrial heritage and diverse culture. The high-rises in the city center stand alongside Victorian-style buildings, making it a showcase of British urban style.
Stratford-upon-Avon
The birthplace of Shakespeare, this town on the banks of the River Avon is famous for the literary giant. You can visit the house where Shakespeare was born, the church where he is buried, and the theater and streets named after him. With its quiet streets and elegant architecture, it’s an ideal place to experience Britain’s literary spirit and rich history.
Bicester Village
Bicester Village is the UK’s most popular outlet shopping destination, around an hour’s drive from London. It is home to more than 160 international brand boutiques, including luxury names such as Gucci, Prada, and Burberry. Prices are discounted year-round to as low as 40% of the original price, with additional clearance offers from time to time, making it a must-visit for shoppers. The bridge is also crossed by the Hogwarts Express, which Harry Potter takes in the films, making it a popular photo spot for fans. Next, head to Fort Augustus, named after an ancient Roman emperor and located at the southern tip of Loch Ness. Visitors come here in search of the Loch Ness Monster. It is a peaceful town that relies on tourism. We will also pass by Loch Lomond, Scotland’s first national park.
